Sertoma Field
The project that started it all. We had the pleasure of working on the signage for Sertoma Field after the course manager reached out looking to replace the course’s aging signs with something more thoughtful and visually connected to the property itself.
This project became the foundation for much of the approach we still use today. It was a major learning experience and helped shape many of the creative and strategic decisions that continue to define Happy Little Accidents.
One of the primary goals was to make the sidebar feel like a natural extension of the course artwork itself rather than a separate information panel. The illustrations pulled directly from the character of the property, while the logo system was designed to feel subtle, timeless, and tied to the course environment.
Many of the holes featured unique details we were able to incorporate into the artwork: winding creeks, elevation changes, distinctive signage elements, and even a wind chime built from a previous bench that had been destroyed by a chainsaw-wielding neighbor. (No lie.) See if you can spot the small homage to the chainsaw hidden within the Hole 13 illustration.
